Recipe for "Vanillekipferl" (vanilla-flavoured crescent cookies):
250g flour (~8.8oz)
210g butter (~7.4oz)
80g sugar (~2.8oz)
4 pckgs. vanilla sugar (32g total, ~1.1oz)
icing sugar (you decide yourself how much you need, i've used way too much (250g), enough for >20 trays haha)
Approx. time: 20 min preparing dough, ~1 hour in the fridge, 20 minutes per tray, approx. 4 trays (depends on how big you make your cookies)
Difficulty: easy (first type of cookies i ever baked myself)
Put flour, butter, sugar, and 2 packages of vanilla sugar in a bowl and mix well. Wrap it in plastic wrap and put it in the fridge for approx. an hour (30 minutes are enough, but i find it easier to work with that way).
Mix remaining 2 pckgs. vanilla sugar with icing sugar, put aside
Preheat oven to 180°C top/bottom heat (160°C fan-assisted). Form cookie dough into small crescents (see pic for size) and bake for approx. 15 minutes (more or less, take out when they start to brown).
Let cool for 2-3 min, sieve prepared sugar mix over cookies and roll them around in it, let cool for another 2-3 minutes so you don't burn your mouth haha, and enjoy!
