Pinned toot

So, here's my

I live in Colombia, South America, I'm around 30 years old, I'm a professional photographer but I earn my living with web development.

I'm also right now trying to farm my own food, living it the country with loads of hens, geese, cows, fish, 2 dogs and a cat.

I ♥ Permaculture, long term traveling, simulators and geeking out.

I'm the only human being living in my farm.

This results in a change in the amount of water flowing through the filter, actually showing the sun intensity with near real time changes in the flow.

I could minimize this effect with a higher capacity battery, but I actually like it.

I wonder if this can damage the battery or the pump.. 🤔

One interesting thing I've noticed so far is that at sunrise and sunset, while the pump pulls more energy than the panel produces the controller starts switching the pump on and off to allow for safe voltage discharges to it.

The parts for the solar energy installation of the pond's pump arrived and I've been testing the system for a couple of days now. 😀

First hours of swirl filtering results.
It's working nice and stable!

Never been so happy about fish poop :D

If I hook a 12v 8w brushless motor submersible water pump to a 16w 12v solar panel. Will it damage the pump when the sun is strongly shining?

How can I protect it?

Today I built a new centrifugal filter to remove solids from the pond's water. It is very low maintenance and has no moving parts.

Water enters in a spinning motion so solids move outwards and to the bottom. The exit is through a overflow siphon so solids are stuck in the filter and easily removed by opening the bottom cleaning valve, very simple, very effective.

No contesto el teléfono a números desconocidos, en cambio a los conocidos tampoco.

I just tested the pond water, despite it being green all parameters are optimal.

Ph, hardness, Nitrate, Chlorine, nitrite and alkalinity.

There are some people that suck at parking or what? This is earlier in my town today.

One car using 2 spots and the sidewalk.

The car being crashed tells me that the owner is not the best of drivers.

Yesterday was such a long Monday, I thought today was Wednesday.

My to-do list for today:

- Hang the clothes to dry
- Feed & water the birds
- take a shower
- go to the farmers market in Tabio and eat empanadas.
- go to the motocross championship and watch my cousin's race. 🤘
