We shouldn't be "opting out" of their violations of our rights. We should be asking what gives them the right to steal our behavioral data in the first place.

When I started pixelfed, stuff like blocks or mutes wasn't even on my radar.
I have never experienced abuse or harassment online. I've never blocked an account on twitter. It was naive to think those should not be a priority based on my own experiences.
I've learned so much this past year, and strive to build a safer alternative to IG for everyone.
It might take a bit longer, but it sure is worth it!

So we've got a terror attack blamed on Muslims (on the basis of tissue-thin evidence I might add) whose video footage goes viral, not on #SocialMedia, but on the television stations of the corporate news media. Now we've got an anti-Muslim terror attack that was definitely carried about by a white supremacist (by his own admission), and the footage is being desperately suppressed, to the point of being formally censored by the #ChiefCensor. Now sure what to make of this, but it intrigues me.
